It’s three defeats out of three for Long Sutton Athletic Reserves




There was a third defeat out of three for Long Sutton Athletic Reserves on Saturday as they lost our featured match, 8-2 at home to YDP.

Simon Adcock and Adam Crane scored for The Magpies, who drop into the fledgling Peterborough League Division Three relegation area.

In the Premier Division, it’s just one defeat in seven for rejuvenated Leverington Sports, who drew 1-1 at Stamford Belvedere. In the same division, Tydd got their first points of the season with a 2-2 draw at Oundle Town, sub Brad Easey and Matthew Cousins on target.

Chatteris Town are up to second in Division One after a terrific 13-1 victory at struggling Peterborough Polonia. Martin Saunders and Casey Stonnell-Fitzgerald hit four each, Sam Bond netted a hat-trick and Samuel Parker and Troy Cox were also on target.

In the same division, Wisbech Town Reserves’ game at Cardea was postponed as the Fenmen could not raise a side and Long Sutton Athletic were beaten 6-0 at Stilton United.

Sutton Bridge United made it four wins from four in Division Two and are joint top after a 6-0 win at Park Farm Pumas Reserves. Matt Eaton led the way with three goals and Jordan Collison, Mark Garner and sub Benjamin Thompson also netted.

There was victory in the same division for Leverington Sports Reserves, 3-2 at home against King’s Cliffe, all the goals coming in the final third of the game. The visitors took a 63rd minute lead, but Ricky Melton equalised in the 70th minute. Sub Praise Banhire made it 2-1 to Leverington with six minutes remaining, only for Cliffe to equalise two minutes later. But the home side had the last laugh when Conor Bird netted in the final minute.

Tydd Reserves got their first Division Two point of the season with a 2-2 home draw with Whaplode Drove Reserves. Leverington Sports A lost 1-0 at home to Moulton Harrox Reserves in Division Four.

Wisbech St Mary’s poor start to the Cambridgeshire County League Premier Division season continued with a 3-0 defeat at Over Sports, after having Andy Willmott controversially sent off just before half time.

March Town Reserves are top of Senior B after thrashing Sawston Rovers 6-2. After conceding early on, only a great save from keeper Ethan Peachey kept the score at 1-0 before James Monaghan levelled for The Hares with a powerful header.

A sweeping move then saw James Rose set up Harry Powley to make it 2-1, before a counter attack saw Kodi Kuczeck net with a fantastic 20-yarder. Blake then rattled the bar and Blake Cowley missed a sitter as March went in 3-1 up at the break.

Monaghan headed in the fourth from a free kick and Josh Kirby’s effort from 20 yards out made it five before the visitors pulled one back. March weren’t finished though and when Seb Goldspink was brought down in the box, he got up to make it 6-2 from the spot.

Wimblington are also flying in Senior B and won 2-0 at home to previously unbeaten Great Shelford Reserves, Martin Porter and sub Nick Ward scoring, but Nathan Martin seeing red.

Chatteris Town Reserves are top of 1B after two games and beat Eynesbury Rovers Reserves 7-4 at home. Benjamin Roberts helped himself to five goals, with Stead and Matthew Alexander also netting.

There was no game for Benwick Athletic (Christchurch) and March Town A were beaten 4-0 at Lakenheath Casuals.

Outwell Swifts drew 2-2 at Papworth in 2B, Brandon Hedge and Aiden-Jay Lewis scoring, Manea United lost 3-2 at Wicken Amateurs, with Robbie Ryan and Harry Fox scoring, and Wisbech St Mary Reserves were also beaten 3-2, at home to The Eagle, Ryan Alexander and Ricky Mason scoring.

Doddington Three Lions won 4-2 at home to Bluntisham Rangers Reserves in 3B, James Edgar, Joshua Ingram and subs Chevaughn Dixon and Ben Fouracre netting.

Wisbech St Mary A are top of 4B after two games, winning 16-0 at Outwell Swifts Reserves. In the same division, Guyhirn won 4-0 at home to Wisbech Town Acorns, but March Academy lost 6-3 at home to Willingham Wolves, Jack Conyard (2) and Charlie Robinson netting.

Manea United Reserves drew 2-2 at Pymoor and Dean Joyce scored for Chatteris Town A as they drew 1-1 at home to Streatham Reserves. Upwell Town lost 5-1 at Alconbury Weston.

In the Anglian Combination 5 Five North, Marshland Saints dropped points for the first time, beaten 6-3 at home by Sprowston Reserves.
