March swimmers show their strength at South Lincs Competitive Swimming Club Tulip Meet
Jacob Ure was the star of the show as swimmers from the March Marlins Swimming Club competed at the South Lincs Competitive Swimming Club Tulip Meet 2025.
Marlins swimmers delivered outstanding performances, collectively securing 67 personal bests and bringing home an impressive 26 gold, 16 silver, and nine bronze medals.
Among the standout performances, Ure had a phenomenal meet, earning four gold, six silver, and a bronze over the two days. Star swimmers Harriet Feaviour and Jude Staton each competed in six races—and won six gold medals apiece.
In the 200m freestyle team relay (13+ age category), the squad of Jacob Ure, Kitty Payne, Isla Staton, and Jude Staton clinched victory by a thrilling two-second lead.
Jude Staton added to his gold tally by winning the exciting Skins event—a head-to-head elimination race featuring the six fastest swimmers from the 50m freestyle.
Swimmers raced the 50m repeatedly, with the slowest eliminated after each round until only one remained.
Isla Staton also delivered a strong performance with four gold and a silver, in addition to her key role in the victorious relay team.
The club’s younger swimmers competed in Round 2 of the Junior Fenland League at Newmarket.
Representing March Marlins were two squads—March Blue and March Pink—who raced against teams from Thetford and Bottisham.
Both teams performed brilliantly, with numerous personal bests achieved. March Blue stood out with a commanding win in the round.
