Tydd Gote Angling Club's latest Sunday Club match was won by John Taylor

Star man John Taylor was the best of the bunch at Tydd Gote Angling Club's latest Sunday Club match.

With an eastern wind and an abundance of weed, it wasn't easy to make any significant catches.

Taylor fished from the much-fancied Peg 7, and bagged a few big catches before a large pike disrupted the feeding fish.

He still managed to make a few smaller catches, and finished with a total of 7lb 9oz.

Sammy McSpadden found some roach from Peg 9, while some useful perch managed to take his total up to 5lb 6oz for a second-place finish.

Pete Emery took third from Peg 3 with 3lb 4oz, with his catches predominantly made up of a single 2lb 10oz perch caught early on with a worm.

Big catches tailed off afterwards, with most struggling for the odd fish.

Archie Greenwood and Dave Simmonds (on Pegs 12 and 10 respectively) managed to tie for fourth with 2lb 11oz.
