Leverington's U17 girls battled to a 2-1 win over Milton to preserve their unbeaten run in the league.

It was a tough start to the game with leaves falling and covering half of the pitch.

This led to a very frustrating first half as Leverington applied pressure to Milton goal, with Lauren Davis, Millie McClagish, Harmony Hanton, Courtney Venni and Morgan Smith creating chances but unable to find the back of the net.

It was 0-0 at the break, meaning it was the first time the girls have failed to score in the first half of a game this season.

The second half seen much of the same, with Leverington applying pressure on Milton - whose goalkeeper and centre back kept them in the game.

Then a long kick from Deanna Boon unleashed Millie McClagish, who fired home the Leverington opener.

Milton responded well and attacked Leverington, beginning to apply pressure to their goal.

Some miscommunication and an excellent strike brought Milton a fully-deserve goal for their dogged defence.

A shocked Leverington came back to life again, with McClagish grabbing her second goal of the day to secure the three points and keep up a good run of form.
