Leverington teenage pro footballer Kyle Barker makes Peterborough United FA Cup debut at Premier League Burnley FC's Turf Moor
Leverington teenage professional footballer Kyle Barker made his FA Cup debut against Premier League opposition last weekend.
The 19-year-old fledgling Fenland star played just his fourth first-team game for Peterborough United away at Burnley at Turf Moor.
The teenager came on a substitute in the second-half for Louis Reed as 'Posh' eventually valiantly lost to Burnley – who a few years ago signed Wisbech Town’s Harry Limb – 4-2 after being 3-0 down early on.
Barker said that it was an amazing experience.
He is also sponsored by Carrie and Gary Haime at 2gether insurance in Wisbech.
His three previous Peterborough appearances were all in the EFL Trophy.
Kyle joined Peterborough at under-14 level and was previously at Norwich City FC between the ages of 8 to 13 years old.
Previous clubs were Cambridge United while aged 7 and Leverington Sports when aged 6.
The teenager signed professional contracts in March 2019, then his contract was extended in August 2019 after a promising pre-season.
