James Licquorice and Nicky Young set to take on World of Shale final at King’s Lynn

The biggest National Banger title to be contested on shale – the Unlimited Banger World of Shale – takes place at King’s Lynn this Saturday.

Drivers started qualifying for the World of Shale last October. It is not easy making the grid, with securing a place requiring dedication and hard work racing at many rounds.

Fenland’s James Licquorice has enjoyed a spectacular qualifying campaign, and qualifies for the big race after winning the entertainer points league which ran throughout the season.

The entertainer league is the most difficult way to make the World of Shale grid, but Licquorice and his team showed great skill and determination to win the points.

He is one of two drivers who have made the grid for the World of Shale, and he will be joined by crowd favourite Nicky Young.

Young has not raced as often this year as in previous years, but targeted the all important qualifiers and was delighted to once again make the grid.

A number of local drivers will also be looking to qualify for the big race through the last chance, including Tom Waller, Kieran Gray, James Ellis, Andrew Parrin, Nathan Young, Billy Cunningham and Joe Geeves.

Further banger action this weekend will be provided by the Junior Bangers, with the local drivers entered including Levi Murkin, Lincoln Douglas, Rhys Parrin, Archie Horwood, Keyan Murkin-Everett and Tommy Joe Cunningham.
