James Licquorice entertains at 2023 World of Shale stock cars final in King’s Lynn
James Licquorice was once again very much in the middle of the action at the Unlimited Banger World of Shale.
He was spun out in the early stages of the race, and with his chance of victory gone he set about producing another superbly entertaining performance – delivering several big hits and plugging the gaps.
This saw a full track blockage form at one point which helped to contribute towards a sensational championship race, which was won by Sheffield’s Rikki Finney.
Licquorice was also in great form later in the meeting as he picked up his second entertainer award in one of the all comers races.
Wisbech’s Nicky Young had also qualified for the World of Shale Championship, but had a frustrating evening with engine problems.
Joe Geeves had a good night and progressed through the last chance to qualify for the World of Shale by winning an entertainer award.
Tom Waller came close to winning an entertainer award, but his hit was judged to be outside the zone.
Kieran Gray also came close to making the big race, coming home in third place in his last chance – but with only the top two drivers qualifying, he just missed out. He also had a further third place finish in one of the all comers later in the night.
Archie Horwood continued his fantastic form in the Junior Bangers with victory in the opening heat, and followed this up with a third place finish later in the night.
The youngster is surely looking at painting his roof a new grade colour soon.
From further down the grid, Levi Murkin and Zane Douglas both managed top-ten finishes throughout the evening.
Racing returns to the Adrian Flux Arena in King’s Lynn on Saturday, September 30 when BriSCA F1 and F2 Stock Cars are both in action.
