One more win will see Chatteris promoted
Chatteris Town must win their last game of the season on Saturday to gain promotion from Cambridgeshire County League's Kershaw 1B.
The Lilies won 2-1 at Buckden on Saturday, with Sam Bond's 18th of the season and and sub Jack McLoughlin doing the damage. This followed a 2-0 home win against Over Sports Reserves on Tuesday, when Aaron Ruscoe and Martin Saunders with his 11th of the season were on target.
The North Cambs Junior Cup champs host second placed Burwell Swifts at the weekend, knowing the win will promote them.
March Town United Reserves were beaten 5-1 at Hemingfords United in the Kershaw Premier on Saturday, Sean White scoring.
Kershaw Senior B champions AFC Walpole won their penultimate game 4-2 at Comberton United Reserves. The Honey Badgers took the lead when Toby Allen crossed for Connor Bird to head home.
Brendan Burton poked home the second and his 10th of the season, and then Comberton pulled a goal back, before Allen set up Joe Reed to bag his 23rd league goal of the season. The home side made it 3-2 but then two subs combined as Niall Burton set up Bradley Kennedy to seal the win.
Man of the Match for Walpole was keeper Adam Groves who pulled off three wonderful saves.
Fen Tigers Engineers moved into the Kershaw 3C promotion places with a 7-2 thrashing of Littleport Town, who they replace in second position. There were braces for Rueben Beaney, George Terry and Kai Wales and a goal for sub Robbie Ryan. Engineers still have five games to play and three wins should see them promoted.
The 4C title race looks like it will go to the wire, with Outwell Swifts following up Tuesday night's 2-0 win over AFC Ely with a 3-2 home win over West Row Gunners. Adan-Jay Lewis scored both midweek goals and scored all three against the Gunners to make it an amazing 49 goals for the season for him from just 27 games.
Leaders AFC Walpole Reserves travel to AFC Ely on Saturday, when Swifts are at Mepal Sports. Assuming both win, Outwell will need to win their game in hand against Lakenheath Casuals the following weekend to clinch the title.
Tydd's ChromaSport Peterborough League promotion dreams came crashing down when they lost 6-0 to FC Peterborough. They must now win their last game of the season at Moulton Harrox Reserves on Tuesday while hoping Peterborough lose at Crowland Town Reserves and Deeping Rangers Reserves fail to win both of their remaining games.
In the same division, Wisbech Town Reserves lost 3-1 at home to Crowland Town Reserves, sub Declan Foster scoring for the Fenmen.
Leverington Sports Reserves rounded off their Division Three season with a 3-0 home win against Hampton Reserves, and in 5B, Leverington Sports A drew 3-3 at Hampton A, Lewis Day scoring twice and Grady Goode also on target.
Marshland Saints moved away from the MG Building Maintenance North West Norfolk League Division One relegation area with a 3-2 win at fellow strugglers Dersingam Rovers Reserves, Dave Abbott netting twice and Lewis Sparks also on target.
