March members out in force at Ferry Meadows and Sandringham
March Athletic Club members took on two different running events on opposite ends of the running spectrum.
On Wednesday evening, they had 21 athletes at the Ferry Meadows 5k - the final run of the Peterborough Grand Prix series.
Andrew Jakeman claimed a third-place finish as he had a strong run finishing in 15:35.
Luke Cumbridge was second in his age category finishing in 16:43.
His fine performance was enough to secure the win for the series in the male under 17s category.
Kanina O'Neil was the leading lady for the club finishing in 19:00 and winning her age category.
Tina Lambert and Dawn Goodley were next home for the club as they continued their excellent running form in the series.
March also had competitors in the 3k race for juniors.
Matthew Cumbridge continued to excel as he finished ninth in an impressive time of 11:51.
Liberty Sibthorp was second home, followed by her brother, Austin Sibthorp. Liberty's outstanding run saw her finish as first under-11 girl in the 3k series.
Later in the week, four runners were present at the Sandringham 24-hour event.
The event had tough conditions with a trail course and the weather was hot and dry.
The team consisted of Michael Stacey, Jon Long, Alan Brown and Jason Mottram.
They all performed amazingly, taking turns to run loops of the circuit through Sandringham for 24 hours and they set personal best records during the tough event.
