Wisbech rocked by Ross departure
With just three weeks to go until the new season starts, Wisbech Town are without a manager after the shock resignation of Allan Ross yesterday (Thursday).
Ross resigned from the United Counties League club with immediate effect, citing personal reasons for his decision. His assistant Lee Taylor has also left the club.
A club statement reads: "The timing of this decision is obviously not ideal and efforts are now concentrated on finding a replacement with only three weeks until the start of the season."
Suitable candidates are invited to apply for the position by emailing chairman@wisbechtownfc.co.uk
The friendly at Wyberton on Saturday (3pm) goes ahead as planned.
OMG Well boys and girls the situation at the moment is, 4 weeks to start of season we have no manager and no team. Mr Ross resigned last night with a number of excuses. Training pitch not cut, main pitch not looking good, daughter at University, friends abroad he wants to visit. But ultimately, all last seasons squad departed (apart from Luke Pearson) and he failed to attract new players to the club. . So we are in a pickle at this present time...Happy days
