March Squash Club first team have created history this season by winning the Cambridgeshire League Division One for the third year straight but also doing the double by taking the league cup for the first time in their history.

Up against youthful teams from around Cambridgeshire and Peterborough and battling their own injury problems, March sat at the top of the league for the entire season and never looked like being caught.

Club captain, Matt Fiveash, said: “I’m very proud of all the players and still amazed how a group of aging, overweight has-beens can still compete at the top level and show these youngsters how it’s done!”

Special mention to club junior champion Avison Warren, who with a 17-0 record did not lose a match all season.

The team will take a short break before pre-season training starts to prepare them for another title defence starting in October.
