March cricketers host annual general meeting ahead of new season




March Town Cricket Club's annual meeting was held in the pavilion last month.

The members were welcomed by club president Jody Betts while secretary Les Mills gave his report on the 2024 season.

Treasurer Alan Day presented the club’s accounts.

The following Officers were elected.

President: Jody Betts

Saturday 1st XI captain: Callum Young; vice-captain: Toby Nulty.

Women’s captain: Lois Hopkins; vice-captain: Kelly Baines.

Saturday 2nd XI captain: Alun Bradshaw; vice-captain: Stuart Mills.

Sunday 2nd XI captain: Jim Chapman; vice-captain: Steve Coe.

Chairman: Matt Vail; vice-chairman: Chris Ringham.

Secretary: Les Mills.

Treasurer: Josh Harradine.

Fixture secretary Gary Nicholls.

Committee members: Callum Young, Lewis Welcher, Lois Hopkins, Ian Liversedge, Bill Adamson, Emma Liversedge, Stuart Mills, Toby Nulty, Mark Deas, Sam Clarke, John Gilson and Catherine Goakes.

At the end of the AGM, Bill Adamson was made an Honorary Vice President for more than 30 years of coaching for the club.

A gift was also presented to Alan Day who retired from the treasurer's role after 45 years of voluntary service looking after the club`s accounts.
