March members prepare for forthcoming campaign by supporting ECB “Get Set Weekend" initiative




March Town Cricket Club members turned out in force on Saturday to support the ECB "Get Set Weekend" initiative.

Cricket clubs throughout the country are preparing the grounds and pavilion for the start of the new cricket season.

More than 40 volunteers completed numerous jobs on a lovely, sunny spring day.

Jobs completed included getting the scorebox spring cleaned and operational, putting the plastic covers on to the metal framed covers, spring cleaning the changing rooms and showers, harrowing the outfield and cutting the square, a full kit inventory, putting up the pavilion clock, sweeping out and rolling the double bay nets, repairing and putting a coat of woodstain on to the spectators seats and cleaning the sight screens.

Club secretary Les Mills said: "Many thanks to all our members. A fantastic turnout and an incredibly productive day
