March Athletics Club plays host to Hereward Relay

March Athletics Club hosted one of the biggest local running races of the year; the Hereward Relay.

The relay starts in Peterborough and finishes in Ely with four stages in the race and the option of taking on the ultra marathon, which is nearly 40 miles long.

The event ran smoothly thanks to the amazing work of all the volunteers at the athletic club.

March team 'Age before Beauty' won the relay with Andrew Jakeman winning stage one, Luke Cumbridge winning stage two, Glen Watts winning stage three and Andrew Jakeman came back to win another stage as he took home the win for the fourth as well.

Kanina O'Neil put in a strong performance for the ladies too as she was the first lady on the fourth stage.

All of the runners put in fantastic performances demonstrating grit and determination battling with muddy conditions and strong winds throughout the day.
