March Golf Club members celebrate 100th year in style

March Golf Club celebrated its 100th birthday over a busy weekend of play and social activities.

The weekend started off with a nine hole hickory club challenge. Hickory clubs had to be used when teeing off, making for some interesting shots.

Mike Robinson looked the part in his vintage outfit, while club junior Fabian Durdant-Hollamby, 13, had a great round with 19 stableford points.

Around 80 members teed off for the Centenary Cup on Saturday, with the weather making for a great day out – and Fabian had another successful round, winning the competition with a whopping 47 stableford points.

He was presented with his cup by club chairman Barry Cracknell at the celebratory hog roast evening.
