New Three Counties Running Club member Simon Killen off to great start at St Neots Riverside Runners Half Marathon




Three Counties Running Club’s Simon Killen ran his first official race as a member at the St Neots Riverside Runners Half Marathon.

Simon has only been with the club for around three weeks, and put in a superb performance.

The event is firmly established on the race calendar, and is renowned for its potential for PBs.

The race starts and finishes at the Ernulf Academy in St Neots, and the route is a one-lap course on country roads.

In his first half marathon, Simon had a fantastic run - finishing slightly quicker than he had hoped in a fantastic PB time of 1:21:11 for an incredible 46th position out of 844 runners.

Elsewhere, Lou Mayer took part in her 50th parkrun at March on Saturday - with plenty of friends and fellow runners showing their support.

There were 97 runners in total, with TCRC having 11 of their team finish in the top 50.

First home for TCRC was Craig Freestone in ninth with a time of 21:59.

Results: 10th Mark Mattless 22:20, 12th Gary Bligh 22:23, 18th Jonathan Quail 23:32, 27th Dawn Ball 25:39 (2nd female 1st in age), 28th Sarah-Jane Macdonald 25:42CPB (3rd female 1st in age), 39th Sarah Johnson 27:48 (2nd in age), 40th Claire Smithee 27:49CPB (2nd in age), 44th Tracey Else 28:13, 45th Colin Apps 28:14, 48th Melvin Green 28:59, Kim Coultard 30:19CPB, David Hammond 30:22(2nd in age), Keith White 31:14, Lorraine Parker 31:14CPB, Steve Clarke 32:53, Ewa Szczygielska 33:43CPB, Lou Mayer 34:02 and Laura Vincent 34:18.

Elsewhere, at the Dunfermline Parkrun, Joely Apps got around the course in 37:23.
