Fenland Running Club members take to the capital for London Marathon

Nine Fenland Running Club members were among the 50,000 participants in this year's London Marathon.

Graham Milham cemented a phenomenal sub-three-hours in 02:59:40 (PB), followed by Pete Lunt with a blistering 03:23:07 (PB) and Tom Richards just minutes later with 03:28:45 (PB).

The first female home Ann Trett tipped the line at 03:33:04 (PB), with Carol Bowett very hot on her heels with 03:36:13 (PB).

Rod Sinnott was next across the line in 03:46:40 followed by Leah Banks 04:02:45 with Daniel Spiller 04:04:21 and Rachael Nichols 05:06:55.

In the virtual London Marathon Fenland Running Club's Jane Clarke and David Hammond, of Three Counties Running Club, completed the 26.2-mile challenge on a local route in 05:13:44.

Clarke said, that although it wasn’t the fastest marathon she had completed it was one of her proudest moments and provided the massive boost she needed as her training had been disrupted through illness.

The run was completed only four weeks after the end of her radiotherapy treatment for breast cancer.
