Fenland Running Club took on Ironman Barcelona and the London Marathon
Fenland runners Alan Bird and Stuart Follen headed out to Spain in late-September to take on Ironman Barcelona.
Three years of training and planning came together brilliantly, but there were early cancellation fears due to potentially stormy weather.
However, things stayed calm enough for the pair to jump into the water and kick-start their swimming section.
This was shortened slightly due to choppy water.
Next up was a 112-mile bike ride along the scenic coastline of Calella, before they rounded things off with a marathon run to complete their Ironman journeys.
Alan crossed the finish line in 11.02.06, while Stuart was just an hour behind with a time of 12.06.40.
When the pair approached the finish line, they were treated to wild cheers and the waving of pom poms from joyful supporters.
Shortly afterwards on October 3, Fenland Running Club turned out in force at the London Marathon.
Jane Clarke was fastest for the club, nearly beating her personal best at the iconic race just days after losing her husband.
Melissa Milham was next to complete the marathon in 4:14:11, beating her previous personal best by five minutes, while Ian King was across the line in a time of 5:24:37.
Three Fenand members also took part in the Virtual London Marathon, meaning they could still enjoy the fun while staying at home.
Karen Ellis ran around Wisbech with support from her family, while Nigel Marlow combined his run with a trip to catch up with his family in Preston.
Sarah Rippon, meanwhile, completed her's by walking laps of Wisbech Park.
Virtual Marathon results: Nigel Marlow (4:45:21), Karen Ellis (4:54:21), Sarah Rippon (8:11:45)
