Brandon comes to Whitings League rescue versus Eaton Socon

Brandon Phillips of March Town came to the rescue versus Eaton Socon in the Cambs Whitings League on Saturday.

Phillips arrived at the crease at 15-3, and smacked 93 from 60 balls in a team score of 138.

The next highest scorer was Sam Clarke, 11, who was involved in an eighth wicket partnership of 63 with Phillips as March won by 18 runs.

Phillips hit 14 fours and two sixes while Joe Dawborn grabbed 5 for 27 for Eaton Socon.

Saranga Rajaguru bagged 4-42 in a quick match which lasted slightly more than 60 overs in total.

In the same division, Wisbech Town CC lost at Saffron Walden by 5 wickets.

Wisbech won the toss and elected to bat, with much of the top order getting runs.

Danny Haynes top-scored with 74, but the lower order fell away as Wisbech were dismissed for 230 in 49.2 overs, James Williams getting stranded on 45.

Saffron Walden reached 232 for 5 with more than six overs to spare despite a late Williams (2-9) spate of wickets.
