Point on the road for March Town but home defeats for Wisbech Town and Parson Drove
Wisbech Town finally scored a league goal this afternoon after more than seven hours of trying - but it was not enough as they went down to a fifth successive United Counties Premier North defeat.
Parson Drove were also beaten, while March Town could only manage a point on the road.
The Fenmen found themselves 3-0 down at half time at home to mid-table Harrowby United, Thomas Harris netting twice for the Lincolnshire visitors and Kemal Yeniberitz also on target.
But Toby Allen pulled one back from the penalty spot for bottom-of-the-table Wisbech in the third minute of added-on time, in front of a loyal crowd of 141 supporters.
In the United Counties Premier South, March found themselves 1-0 down at half time to a 38th minute Jorrin John penalty at a Leicester Nirvana side still looking for their first league win of the campaign.
But sub Craig Gillies came off the bench to rescue a point for The Hares with an 84th minute equaliser that keeps them fourth in the table after five games.
Over at Parson Drove, Arran Duke’s men lost 1-0 at home to Whitton United in the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties First Division North. This third defeat from four games sees Drove slip to 16th in the table.
Next Saturday Wisbech travel to Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties Premier outfit Harleston Town in the FA Vase First Round Qualifying while March are at home to Dussindale & Hellesdon Rovers of the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties First Division North. Drove travel to play early season promotion challengers Leiston U23s in the league.
