March Athletic Club runners took part at the Gear 10km, Thorney 5-miler and Oundle 20-miler events
March Athletic Club members packed their bags for a three-race tour over the weekend.
The club had representatives at three different events throughout the local area, and impressed across the board.
On a rainy Sunday, three runners took on the Gear 10km race at King's Lynn.
With roads through the town centre closed for the event, Dean Markillie joined husband and wife-team Kay and Graeme Dedman to dash through the local park and along the riverside.
Dean was first home for March, crossing the line in an excellent 48.43.
Kay was next in 58.28, and Graeme wasn't far behind with a run of 1.00.12.
Over at Thorney Running Club, Kanina O'Neil took part in their annual fiver-mile race.
She was exceptionally quick and was the second-fastest lady with a time of 33.38.
Bill Swaddling and Deb Watts also had strong runs at the event.
Elsewhere, March runners were battling in the Oundle 20miler - a traditional pre-marathon training race.
While King's Lynn and Thorney offered simple, flat courses, the Oundle event takes runners way out of their comfort zone.
Along with the usual running challenges, they are also obliged to take on the undulating Northamptonshire hills.
Despite that, Andrew Wool, Mike Blackledge, Karen Dando and Nina Markillie were on hand to have a crack on Sunday.
Wool led the March runners over the line with an excellent time of 2.51.01, showing he is in good shape ahead of any marathon.
Blackledge wasn't too far behind and crossed the line in 3.07.24, while Dando (3.36.24) and Markillie (3.42.21) can be very proud of their efforts.
