Robyn Gribble bagged a hat trick to take her season’s tally to 16 goals in a first class team performance.

Gribble commented: “We do not care who scores the goals so long as the team are scoring and winning.”

Other Sutton goals: Amber Wild, Jeorgia Carr and Baker (2) with ten goals to her credit this season.

Player of the match: young Jeorgia Carr.

Skegness found an extra gear after a change of personnel in the last few minutes and slotted in twice.

Sutton knew it was going to be a tough afternoon against promotion-hunting Ipswich.

Sutton played on the counter attack and created some good chances and Fyson came very close to opening the scoring. Ipswich broke the deadlock with the last touch of the first half.

The second half was similar to the first with Ipswich finding it tough to break a dogged Baguley, Belding and Taylor. Ipswich scored their second and then in the last 10 minutes were gifted another two from a tiring Sutton.

LSHC Men’s 2nd 4, Ely City 2nds 1

Bottom team Ely visited Long Sutton on Saturday but the first half was a forgettable affair, with the highlights being the well-taken Ben Shore finish from a good run from Luke Jackson and some good defending from Stef Fox filling in for the absent Matt Holmes.

After half-time Sutton’s pressure told and short corners were won; with Shore finishing twice.

Ellis continued to drive the midfield with support from Gavaghan and it was another mazy run from the veteran, who crossed in for Oldfield to deflect in his first goal for the seconds.

LSHC Men’s Third 1, March 2nds 2

Man of the match Matt King, playing at centre back, made three goal-line clearances.

Jack Smith levelled the scores in a great game.

LSHC Mens’ Fourth 1, Grantham 1sts 4

The fourths were caught cold with three goals in the first five minutes in division 6NW(N).

Sutton did manage to score when Michael Synnott latched onto a long through ball.
