Mighty March runners brave -3 temperatures




The Mighty March runners took to the Frostbite Friendly League last Sunday, despite temperatures of around -3.

The Seniors gave it their all and are now in seventh place. Jevan Robertson - 30:24 - was the first March runner through the frosty funnell.

Kanina O’Neil followed shortly after in 32:28. New March member Mark Godfrey was close on her tail and finished just four seconds later. Toni Alcaraz and Karen Patterson were the other scoring women.

Liberty Sibthorp was the first March runner home for the juniors as she ran the one lap course in 10:27. She was followed by Sasha Bland in 11:17. Oakley Hall was next as she pipped Kai Stoner at the finish in a close sprint. Austin Sibthorp ran amazingly in his first run back from injury.

Ryan Jarvis continued his marathon mayhem as he ran his 53rd of the year. He ran the ‘Zig Zag Running ‘Twas the One Before Christmas Marathon’ and finished in 3hours and 52 minutes.

Mike Blackledge ran the Milton Keynes Half Marathon and finished in a wonderful time of 1hour 46minutes and 14seconds. Mike ran amazingly especially given how icy the course was. Sue Jolly also took to the course and finished in 1:57:26.
