Leverington Three Counties Running Club Lee Johnson second in Snowden Field Parkrun at Crowland entirely on grass

Three Counties Running Club had a busy hot weekend.

It was all about the Parkrun Tourist attraction this Bank Holiday weekend, with club members travelling miles just to run a 5k event in a different location.

Lee and Sarah Johnson whilst away camping decided to put on their trainers and take part in the Snowden Field Parkrun at Crowland which is run entirely on grass.

There was a small field of 57 runners compared to some Parkruns and Lee finished in a superb second place overall in a time of 20:01 and Sarah in 21st position in 26:12.

Whilst on holiday in Cornwall, father and son, Rickie and Joshua Trundle ran the Mount Edgcumbe Parkrun at Torpoint.

The run takes place at the Country Park on a mixture of Tarmac paths, trail paths and grass. They both crossed the line together with Junior Runner Joshua claiming a PB time of 30:05.

Clumber Park, four miles from Worksop in Nottinghamshire, saw husband and wife members Steve and Sandra Rhodes take on the tarmac paths, stoned trails and forest paths.

Steve finished in 24:16 and Sandra 33:36.

Father and daughter, Colin and Joely Apps also travelled to Nottingham to run the Gedling Parkrun. The undulating single lap figure of eight course took part on the grounds of Gedling Country Park. Colin finished in 25:16 and Joely 42:58.

Diane Petchell travelled to Staffordshire to run the Cannock Chase Parkrun which is an undulating mixed terrain course finishing with a PB time of 33:07.

Two ladies who are in week nine of their 12-week beginners' running course tacklde their first ever 5k Parkrun. Massive well done to Jackie Howell finishing in 36:12 and Katie Doiley in 36:13.

Eight club members took park in The Ely Sprint Triathlon which is now in its 9th year. The event which starts and finishes at The Kings School Ely consists of a 300m outdoor pool swim, 20k (12.4miles) cycle ride with the beautiful Ely cathedral in the distance and a surprise hill that waits at the end of the cycle before a 5k run which is a challenging two-lap run around the school playing field.

All eight members had a fantastic event with Matt Hunter finishing first for the club in 27th place in times of swim 5:13, bike 37:52, run 29:15 Total time with transitions 1:15:12.

Sarah Melton-Whitelam 8:58, 44:57, 31:13 total 1:28:44.

Junior Parkrun had 12 junior TCRC club members in the 29-runner field.

First home for the club in 7th place, 2nd Female was Maisie Macdonald in 8:49; plus Hayden Hall 9:51, Ronnie Watts 10:06, Daniel Beitans 10:55, Isaac Western 11:32, Frankie Watts 12:31, Kallum Hall 13:05, Stephanie Harbord 13:10, Callum Bates 14:09, Annika Beitane 14:24, Tobie Watts 19:46 and Keira Fines 19:47 (Tail Walker).

Three Counties Running Club are next running on Sunday, September 1 in The Wissey Half Marathon.
