March AC’s Suzanne Orr completes Half Sunrise ultra marathon with her dog Peppa on Norfolk coastal path from Cley to Britannia Pier in Great Yarmouth

By Tracey Dickerson

March AC’s Suzanne Orr (below) thrives on running challenges, having completed countless marathons and ultra marathons in her career.

This weekend she took on the Half Sunrise ultra marathon with her dog Peppa.

The race follows the route of the Norfolk Coastal Path from Cley-next-the-Sea to Britannia Pier in Great Yarmouth and involves running through the night, starting at 10pm and finishing the following morning after 45 miles.

While Suzanne has run a number of ultras this was Peppa’s first experience of running this distance and they finished the race in just over 14 hours, both looking remarkably fresh at the finish. The pair encountered seals along the route, which involved negotiating sand dunes in wet and windy conditions.
