Rod Sinnott first Fenland Running Club member home at Thorney 5-miler held from Bedford Hall
The annual Thorney 5-mile race, held from the Bedford Hall, took place on Sunday.
Chip timing means entrants can be guaranteed an accurate run time on closed roads.
Like their 10K race this is a flagship race for Thorney Running Club and is envied by other clubs for its organisation and professionalism.
Fenland Running Club was represented by 11 club members.
Notable achievements go to Rod Sinnott, first home in 32:40 with a personal best (PB) of 48 seconds and 2nd MV50. First lady home was Jac Richards in a time of 42:03, absolutely smashing her PB by 1 min 30 secs!
Jane Greenwood is going from strength to strength after sustaining an ankle injury earlier in the year, coming in at 44:56 and 2nd FV60.
Other PB’s came from Steve Bennington by 15 secs in a time of 35:16 and Nigel Seale by 4 secs in a time of 32:53.
It was their first time participating in the Thorney 5 for Adrian Searle and Rachael Nichols in times of 42:18 and 44:51 respectively.
Lucy Hicks had a blast in a time of 49:58, whilst Laura Johnson followed in 57:11. Finally the ‘Fenland Kings’ were out in force once again with Ian completing the course in 39:32 and Sally in 1:00:20.
