Storm Ciara hits Leverington Three Counties Running Club with Shouldham XC, Peterborough 5k and Hereward Relay called off
Three Counties Running Club were all set for the weekend’s jam-packed racing diary – but Storm Ciara thought differently.
Shouldham XC, Peterborough 5k, Junior parkrun and the rescheduled Hereward Relay were all called off due to the forecast of 50 mph winds hitting the country.
So TCRC do what they do best and on Saturday members took part in four different parkrun locations.
There was a big field of 440 runners at King’s Lynn parkrun, with the club’s own Richard Stapleton finishing in 45th position in a fantastic PB of 22:14; followed by Chris Rudd also with a PB of 25:07, Finley Turner 29:24, Kersten Müller 29:26, Joshua Trundle 29:43 and Jennie Sinclair 30:25.
Stephen and Sandra Rhodes were amongst the 515 runners who took part in The Castle Park parkrun. The course is two laps, mostly on grass with a stretch of tarmac along the river. Stephen finished in 84th position in a CPB of 23:09 and Sandra also with a CPB of 33:53.
Colin Apps was the solo TCRC member at Boston and finished 19th out of 183 runners in a great time of 22:55.
With weather permitting, next weekend should see members take on the Stamford 30k race.
