Fenland Running Club's Clarkes post Sublime Cambridge Christmas 10k times around Midsummer Common and River Cam

The Sublime Cambridge Christmas 10k saw Phillip Clarke, Jane Clarke and Lucy Hicks blitz their way around Midsummer Common and along the River Cam.
Phillip led the threesome home, with a tidy 48-19, while Jane was placed second in her category in 49-37. Lucy came in just over the hour in a field of 592 finishers.
At Ferry Meadows in Peterborough on New Year’s Eve, Phillip ran his second Sublime race in three days and the fatigue may have shown; however, his time slipped by only a couple of minutes. Ahead of him was Lewis Saunders, whose 37-50 placed him 22nd in a very strong field.
Chasing behind them were Andy Beveridge in 49-16 and Stacie Youngs 55-31. Completing the team were Ian King in 56-45 and veteran Roger Williams in a huge field of 764 finishers.
Summary: Xmas 10K – Phillip Clarke 48-19 (120th); Jane Clarke 49-37 (140th); Lucy Hicks 1:03-54 (458th). New Year’s Eve 10K – Lewis Saunders 37-50 (22nd); Phillip Clarke 50-03 (185th); Andy Beveridge 49-16 (199th); Stacie Youngs 55-31 (337th); Ian King 56-45 (339th); Roger Williams 57-08 (415th).
New Year’s Eve proved a popular day for racing and saw a further seven members of FRC compete in the popular Ely NYE 10k. A fast, fairly level, rural course, the route starts in Little Downham and is a one-lap course through the village of Pymoor before returning to Little Downham.

Steve Bennington was the lone representative in the RAF Marham Flyers NYE 10k which saw him secure a course and 10k PB of 42:59.
