Leverington Three Counties Running Club celebrate Steve Whitelam's 50th birthday with six tackling Crichton Parkrun in Dumfries, Scotland
Three Counties Running Club had a fantastic weekend of celebrations with six members travelling to Dumfries in Scotland to take part in the Crichton Parkrun.
This was special for Jonny Clark, Sarah Melton-Whitelam and Sarah Lamb, who were all running in their 50th Parkrun, while Steve Whitelam was celebrating his 50th birthday.
The Crichton Parkrun course is entirely on tar, running through the estate of beautiful 85 acres of parkland, starting and finishing at the Memorial church.
Out of a total field of 109 runners Jonny was first home for the club in 10th place in a great time of 21:31. Sarah M-W was next, finishing 2nd female overall and 1st in age in a time of 25:37, Jodie 27:52, Steve 28:35 (PB), Tony Lamb 28:51 and Sarah Lamb 31:21.
In a great day out for the Clarke family, Steve ran in the Silverstone half marathon and wife Zoe and daughter Thea took part in the family one-mile fun run.
This was the chance to run around the world-famous F1 circuit. The course was very flat so an ideal opportunity for a personal best (PB) which all family members managed to get. Steve ran a fantastic half marathon PB of 2:19:33 with Thea just pipping her mum across the line in the 1- mile race to finish in a time of 13:41PB and Zoe 13:42PB.
The Christmas celebrations started early in Ely with The Ely Festive 5k that started at the cathedral and was run on open roads through the historic city, all money raised donated to the Arthur Rankin Hospice.
TCRC member Melvin Green dressed as an elf and had a fantastic race, finishing with a PB of 25:51.
Sunday, December 15 sees TCRC’s Santa 5k and 1k event in Wisbech Park. Great fun for all the family. Get dressed up and run for fun. See the club’s Facebook page or website for more details on how to get tickets. www.threecountiesrc.org
