Leverington Three Counties Running Club claim 2nd to 6th relay places at Grimreaper Ultra Marathon at Grimsthorpe Castle in Bourne 10-miler
Along with three TCRC members taking on the solo 40 and 70-mile challenges, the club also put out five teams of four in the 40-mile relay. Each member had to run a 10-mile loop and then pass the timing chip on to the next runner until all had finished.
There were some fantastic results with Nicole Coughlin finishing her solo 40 miles in a fantastic personal best (PB) of 6:55:52, knocking 35 minutes off last year’s time and finishing 9th out of 64 starters and 2nd female. Sarah Clark was running in her first-ever 40-mile ultra, finishing 26th overall and 8th female in a great time of 9:42:07PB.
Sarah-Jane Macdonald attempted her first 70-mile Ultramarathon but had to pull out with heat stroke at 1am after completing 60 miles in a time of 14:53:38PB.
There were 12 relay teams entered and the five TCRC teams claimed fantastic results of 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th place.
