Wisbech St Mary manager Stuart Beckett was happy with his youngsters' performances in their friendly against Dersingham Rovers
Wisbech St Mary manager Stuart Beckett was pleased with the youngsters he took to his side's most recent friendly.
Despite suffering a 3-2 loss away to Dersingham Rovers on Saturday, Beckett was happy with his youthful lineup's performance.
He said: "It's minutes in the legs for those who played, which is always good.
"It wasn't a special performance. There were a few things we were unhappy about, but the youngsters all done really really well.
"Some of the more senior players were more flat, so we'll work on that before the start of the season.
"It was quite a hot day, but there's plenty of excuses to be made. That certainly won't happen again.
"We'll move on rapidly to this week, when we've got two sessions and a game. We're trying to get a game in for the following week as well."
The Saints will travel to Over Sports this Saturday for their next friendly match.
