Saints lost a nine-goal bottom-of-the-table thriller at the ABC Meats Stadium and stay rock bottom, while Framlingham rise to 17th.

Key striker Corey Kingston gave the Saints a 35th minute lead but Cion Wren equalised for the Castlemen in first half injury time.

Jon Fryatt put the visitors ahead after 46 minutes, only for Kingston to make it 2-2 four minutes later.

New signing Jermaine Watson made it 3-2 to the Saints after 54 minutes, but then Fryatt (62, 80) and Ling (82) put the visitors 5-3 up, before Dan Hempson netted for Wisbech St Mary in the 89th minute.

Manager Alex Kaufman said: “At 1-0 and 3-2 up, our game management’s got to be better than that to close out games.

“Shape-wise, defensively as a team we’ve got to sort it out.

“That’s us bringing in players and not gelling yet. We’re in that new squad mode.”

Ryan Harnwell has returned to the club and should be a great asset up front with Kingston, said Kaufman, who added of the game: “Corey scored, we had lots of good chances and 2-0 would have been fair before half-time.

“We let in a really stupid goal in overtime in the first half.

“They’ve got momentum and within 45 seconds they’ve scored.

“Their midfield two with Framlingham’s forward caused a lot of problems.

“We didn’t deal with that.

“The space between the defence and midfield was too big so we gave them lots of time on the ball.

“It was end-to-end in the second half and we ran out of time. I would have taken a draw by the end.”

Jake Miller should return when Saints travel to Diss on Saturday in their last game before Christmas.

Then they go to King’s Lynn Town Res (at Wisbech FC) in a derby on December 28.
