LEARN MORENewly-promoted March Town Reserves got their second Cambridgeshire County League Kershaw Premier point of the season on the board with a solid 2-2 draw at Cherry Hinton on Saturday. Goals came from Eduard Sacovich and Sam Green.
In Senior B, another newly-promoted team have hit the ground running. AFC Walpole are top of the fledgling table after two games, beating Comberton United 5-0, goals coming from Scott Drewery (2), Niall Burton (2) and Jack Gould.
Fixtures in the other divisions start on September 4.
In the Peterborough League Premier Division, Long Sutton Athletic went down 3-0 at Uppingham Town and Leverington Sports were thrashed 7-2 at Stamford Belvedere, Dan Roberts and Rob Hitchcock getting the Sports goals. In midweek, Leverington enjoyed a terrific 3-1 win at Holbeach United Reserves, with Robert Hitchcock scoring twice and Louie Garner also on target.
In Division One, Tydd made it two wins out of two with an 8-1 thrashing of Peterborough Northern Star Reserves away from home. Bradley Easey led the way with a hat-trick, there were braces for Jay Branham and Matt Eaton and a goal for Sam Cooper.
In Division One, Long Sutton Athletic Reserves kicked off their season with a 4-1 home defeat to Netherton United Reserves. In Division Three, Leverington Sports Reserves drew 1-1 at home to Wittering Premiair A, Alex Albutt scoring, but Tydd Reserves lost 8-0 at home to Casterton.
Sutton Bridge started their Division Four campaign off in style, beating Uppingham Town Reserves 5-0, with English (3), Sutton and Partridge on target and a further three efforts chalked off. Long Sutton Athletics A team's game at Langtoft United was postponed.
