March Town Reserves striker's hat-trick of awards

With coronavirus ending the football season early and stopping gatherings, March Town FC held its annual player presentations online.

After having already announced the first team awards, the reserves and A team accolades were announced.

Sean White made a clean sweep of the reserves awards, winning Manager’s Player of the Year, Players’ Player of the Year and, with 23 goals in 20 matches, the Goalscorer of the Year award.

Manager Richard Peachey said: “Sean played every game and to score 23 goals in 20 games is a great achievement which was recognised by myself and his team mates.”

The reserves were eighth place in the Cambridgeshire County League Kershaw League A when the season ended.

For the A team, veteran goalkeeper David Sykes won the Manager’s Player of the Year award, while 19-year-old Eduard Sacovich was the Players’ Player of the Year.

Eduard, w ho was the top scorer in the league, also picked up the Goalscorer of the Year award, with 19 goals in just 14 games.

The team were second in the Cambridgeshire County League Mead Plant & Grab 2B when the season ended.

Previously, Jamie Short was named first team Supporters’ Player of the Year, Jack Friend Goalscorer of the Year, Craig Gillies Players’ Player of the Year and Danny Emmington Managers’ Player of the Year.
