Rain and road spray forced the cancellation of Wisbech Wheelers Cyling Club’s Tuesday evening time trial.

But by Thursday the weather had settled and two Wisbech vets took to the road in the VTTA series at Newmarket.

Roger Sewell once again put in a remarkable 10 mile time of 21.55 and Denese Hallahan rode a solid 27.42.

On Sunday in the ECCA ‘25’ at Attleborough, John Talbot improved his personal best to 55.33.

And in road racing, Paul Sims took bronze in the 65-70 category at the LRVC South East District Championships, beating several high profile riders including ex-pro’s and national champions.

Wisbech Wheeler Becky Murley joined swimmer, Tracy Adams, and runner, Ellen Connolly, in the Half-Ironman triathlon competition at Holkham where individuals and teams from all over the country competed in this large scale event.

There were 57 teams in the relay section and the girls took 14th overall, including the men’s teams.

Out on the road in the Cafe Sprint, Adrian Churchill jumped away early but Phil Lee powered up and overhauled him with Pete Baldwin left trailing and just managing to hang on for third spot.
