Four for Ella as Leverington Ladies hit six

Leverington Ladies returned to winning ways with a 6-2 S-Tech Cambs Premier Division victory at Fulbourn Ladies.

With players missing through injury and family commitments, there was a chance for other players to step up - and they did so very well.

Recent signing Ella Gavaghan opened the scoring after being played in by Chelsea King.

Faye Kowalewsky doubled the lead after getting on the end of another cross from King, before Gavaghan made it three at half time after firing home a pass from Sophie Swinden, playing in an unfamiliar midfield position.

The home side reduced the deficit after the break, but Leverington stretched the lead again when Gavaghan completed her hat-trick, firing home from close range after more good team play.

Gavaghan then added her fourth and Leverington’s fifth before the home team replied again.

This Sunday, Leverington are at home to local rivals March Town Ladies, 2pm kick-off at Church Lane, Leverington.
