Stock Car and Banger Racing returns to King’s Lynn

Stock Car and Banger Racing returns to King’s Lynn on Saturday (5pm) where the Unlimited Banger World of Shale and 2L Stock Car Bumper Trophy take centre stage.

1500cc Bangers were also on the bill but due to the large number of Unlimited Bangers having booked in, this has been moved to Saturday, September 29, to enable all Unlimited Banger bookings to be accepted.

This is the biggest race to take place for Banger Racing anywhere on shale tracks. Given the success that Wisbech drivers have had in the sport it is a big surprise that as this championship is run for the 28th time it is one which a local driver has yet to claim.

There are plenty of hard luck stories, including local star Nicky Young who has led this race twice in the last four years only to fall foul of what many would see as foul play by backmarking drivers. Never one to let things like that get him down “Spud” always bounces back and has once again qualified for the big race and will be doing everything he can to win the championship and earn the right to put two gold stripes on his roof for the next 12 months!

Young is the only local driver to have already secured a place on the grid. With such a large amount of Unlimited Bangers there will be two last chance races and among those looking to secure their place on the grid through those races will be Dan Fisher and Dan Clarke.

2L Stock Car World Champion Max Stott will be making his first appearance at King’s Lynn since he won the World Final last month and he will be joined by Tommy Parrin in what looks like being another great night of full-on action Stock Car and Banger Racing.
