Manea clinch league title in an historic first for Fenland side
An under-16 football team from Fenland has achieved a historic first in the club’s history.
Manea Strikers won their first-ever league title after an intensely competitive campaign.
Not only did the team top the league this season, but they also reached a thrilling cup final, marking one of the most successful campaigns in the club’s history.
Head coach Tom Cave praised the team, saying: "They demonstrated grit and determination throughout the season, from the first to final whistle.
“They showed a real hunger to succeed by attacking and earning the respect of every team they played”, he added.
Captain Ben Cave’s leadership was crucial throughout the season, both on and off the pitch.
Both Tom Cave and assistant coach Rob Spencer brought energy, encouragement and vital support to the team.
The Fenland community, parents, and club are immensely proud of the under-16s' success and view the team’s historic achievement as a strong foundation upon which future squads can be built.
The group hope to carry on their success into next season, where they will become under-17s with the belief, hard work and leadership that earned them this success.
