Mat makes flying visit from Loughborough Uni to win Tuesday evening course
Mat Webster on a flying visit from Loughborough University made his journey worthwhile by flying round the Wisbech Tuesday evening course in 21.12.
This was just two seconds outside the course record, leaving a gap of almost two minutes to the next rider, John Talbot, on 23.04 and vet, Adrian Whiting a distant third in 24.38.
Becky Murley took the ladies prize at the weekend with a season’s best of 24.42 in the Anglia Velo Open ‘10’ on the A14 near Risby. In the same event 60 vet, Tony Bye, recorded a personal best of exactly 25 minutes and, having started racing only last year, he proves that age is no barrier to improvement. 50+ vet, Lou Campion was pleased to record a season’s best of 27.15 and with so many good performances it is hard to pick any one as ride of the week.
