Sutton St James FC have won the TGWU Cup in the King’s Lynn Sunday Division 2, winning both league and cup in their first season in the league.

Sutton St James (league winners) beat Flitcham Bell (league runners-up) at Fakenham Town.

Sutton won the toss and elected to have the wind behind them for the first half but Flitcham took the lead within the opening 10 minutes.

Around the half-hour mark Ashley Godfrey was felled in the box, winning a penalty. Jake Clitheroe converted.

Ash Godfrey hit the post while in the second half the extreme conditions suited St James as they were forced to play football on the deck.

Jordan Heeley and man of the match Alan Burch scored the goals.

The management duo of Shaun Thorpe and Tim Tomizzi are very pleased with the season as Sutton have lost only one game – from nearly not having a team in the summer of 2014.
