Jacob Lowe leads March Marlins Swimming Club medal haul at Cambs County Championships 2020

The Cambridgeshire County Championships 2020 were held over three weekends and March Marlins Swimming Club collected a phenomenal 155 personal best times, nine gold, 11 silver and 28 bronze medals.

Furthermore,16 swimmers qualified for the finals and seven competitors achieved Regional qualifying times.

Notably, Jacob Lowe swam in eight final races, achieving best times in them all plus taking home two gold and two bronze medals. In his other races, Lowe gained a gold in the 100m butterfly, silver in both the 100m and 400m Individual Medley races and bronze in a further three swims.

Sam Smith also took a gold in the 100m backstroke final plus two bronze for both the 50m and 100m freestyle finals. Smith had already hauled 5 silver and a bronze medal from his other events.

Chloe Cook qualified for 3 finals, finishing with personal best times and bronze medals in all of them. The only other Marlins female to race in the finals was Una Ansone who claimed golds in the 50m and 100m backstroke which added to her bronze and silver already gained from her individual races.

George Milton and Jacks Stapleton both took a gold apiece for their final performances with George also bagging a bronze in the 50m backstroke final to go with his previous bronze win in the 50m butterfly.

• The other finalists were: Harry Rayner who swam in 4 finals, gaining 3 personal best times, Jonas Meckauskas, Theo Liversedge, Freddie Allen, Matthew Cumbridge, Tom Hanley, Graham Shaw and Henry Gooch.

• Molly McGowen took silver in the 1500m freestyle and other bronze medallists were Connor Rickard in the 400m freestyle and Jacob Cowin in the 50m and 100m backstroke.

• Also competing were: Thea Hanley, Luis Souto Hill, Harry Rickard, Dan Riches, Harry Smith, Hannah Jordan, Devon O'Neil, Abigail Watsham, Saule Majauskis, Georgia Ambrose, Jude Staton, Luke Cumbridge, Hattie Carter-Kitchingman, Anastassja Herdien, Rosetta Schauenburg-Kent and Martyn Fresher.
