Ashley Taylor won't press panic button after two defeats - and wants response in UCL Knockout Cup against Eynesbury Rovers

Ashley Taylor is refusing to press the panic button despite his March Town side’s strong start to the season coming to an end with two straight defeats.

The Hares went down to a 2-0 loss against Desborough Town at the weekend following a reversal at Histon.

However, they had won four league games on the trot beforehand - and manager Taylor remains confident his side can get back on track.

March travelled to Eynesbury Rovers last night for a UCL Knockout Cup clash and are back in league action this Saturday when they travel to Rothwell Corinthians.

“I’m looking for a really positive reaction. There’s no panic or any worries about the two defeats that we’ve had - in football you have ups, you have downs,” he told the Citizen.

“We look at it in context as well - we have been very unlucky with injuries and with people unavailable, which has been a little bit frustrating for me.

“We’ve been playing full-backs at centre half, and at the minute we currently have no centre backs available.

“We just have to try and get through this period, and once we get through it and get everyone back I’m confident we will be a very very strong team.”

Taylor doesn’t know too much about Rothwell going into this Saturday’s United Counties League Premier Division South clash.

Their opponents have won two and last four of their opening six fixtures so far this season, while March remain in third spot - only behind second-placed Coventry Sphinx on goal difference.

“It’s a case of just focusing on what we’re about. When the game starts we have to see what they’re about and adapt to it,” he added.

“That’s how we’ll be playing it, really - when we go into the game it’s all about understanding it from the start and adapting to certain things if we need to, finding solutions with regards to their strengths and weaknesses.

“We’re not worrying too much about the opposition - it’s more about us and giving a good account of ourselves.”

March Town vs Desborough Town: Gill, Garner, Saunders, Brumby, Emmington, Romanos, Burrows, Green (Cowie), Friend, Conyard (Lennon), McQuaid. Subs unused: King, Biggs
