Wisbech drivers flying high
Team Havoc, which included Wisbech brothers Brad and Ryan Bartram as well as Joel Allen, were flying high in the 1500cc Banger East Anglian team at King’s Lynn on Saturday.
Some great drives saw them come home in second place out of more than 20 teams which were in action with some super places which included a fantastic fourth and fifth place finish in the action packed final for Joel and Brad respectively. which helped to elevate them to the runner up spot.
Brad also recorded second and sixth place finishes in his heats.
The Birmingham-based Scrapyard Screamers won the event.
James Licquorice took home another entertainer award in the Unlimited Bangers with another great display which ended in the All Comers with Jacob Rushton feeling the full force of a Licquorice attack.
A good number of local drivers in the Junior Bangers did well. Jade Ellis had her best ever night taking home two trophies after winning her heat and then coming home in second place in the all comers after crashing out in the final.
Rhys Parrin was the best local finisher in the Junior Banger final, coming home in eighth place after qualifying for the final with a third place finish in his heat whilst Riley Crowson also took a trophy home following a runner up finish in the consolation.
Stock Cars take centre stage at the Adrian Flux Arena this Saturday (5pm) with BriSCA F2 Stock Cars in action with 2L Stock Cars and 1300 Stock Cars.
The F2 Stock Cars are racing in the People’s Trophy. This event was to commemorate the 60th anniversary of BriSCA F2 Stock Cars and should have taken place in 2020 but was postponed twice due to Covid.
Fans have raised an incredible amount of money to sponsor two events – one on tarmac and one on shale – with drivers voting for which track on each surface they wanted the events to be held on.
The super smooth shaleway at Saddlebow Road is always a firm favourite with drivers and it was no surprise King’s Lynn was picked, with Taunton in Somerset holding the tarmac version a couple of weeks ago were Huddersfield’s Ben Lockwood won a tremendous event.
Manea’s David Polley will be one of the short priced favorites to pick up the big trophy and winners cheque which exceeds the payment made to the World Champion and he will be joined on track by relative newcomer to the formula Alfie Allard.
Local drivers have had plenty of success in 1300 Stock Cars recently and looking for that to continue will be John, Shane and Dean Moat and Tom Alsop whilst Thomas Parrin will be in action in the 2L Stock Cars.
