March Athletics Club in action at Eye Community Runners event
March Athletics Club were in fine form as they travelled to compete in Eye Community Runners’ annual 10k.
The race is the second of the Cambridgeshire Road Leagues events, and once again March runners performed well.
Glen Watts was first home for the Fenland club in third place in a time of 00:33:22.
Niall Jackson continued his fine form with a new PB of 00:35:35, with Mark Godfrey also producing a personal best to complete the trio of male runners to score points in a time of 00:38:07.
For the ladies, Geraldine Larham was first home in 00:44:02 – which earned her first place in the V50 category.
Sonia Witham completed the scoring in a time of 00:58:33.
Meanwhile, two of the club travelled to Heaton Park, Manchester to compete in a half marathon.
The course was a four-lap affair with a large incline on every lap. Hills aren’t a natural environment for runners from the Fens, but both Dawn Veal and Mark Darlow both successfully completed the course.
