Three Counties Running Club's Matt Hunter and Cheryl Lenton tackle North Norfolk Triathlon
Three Counties Running Club's Matt Hunter and Cheryl Lenton tackled the North Norfolk Triathlon at Wells.
The Olympic distance event consists of a 1.5km open water swim, held in the sea in Wells Harbour, followed by an undulating 40km bike route around North Norfolk coastal villages and a 10km run course.
Matt had participated in this event previously, but this was Cheryl’s first time at Wells - and her first time at the distance.
Matt had a fantastic result with an overall time of 3:08:19 (swim 28:00, bike 1:28:54, run 1:03:33).
Cheryl crossed the line full of pride and with a fantastic overall time of 3:11:26 (swim 32:25, bike 1:32:15, run 1:03:50).
Elsewhere, other members took part in the midweek Peterborough 5k series which started on June 22. The series consists of five races hosted by local running clubs.
The first race was at Lindisfarne Road Eye, hosted by Eye Community Runners.
First home for the club was Gary Bligh (20:32), followed by Michelle Brown (22:00), Johnny Beesley (2:30), Dawn Ball (25:00) , Donna Johnson (27:41) and Melvin Green (28:07CPB).
Dawn Ball recently took part in The Abbey 10k on a very warm windy day.
The multi-terrain race hosted by Ramsey Runners passes through the historic 10th century Abbey Grounds. Dawn had a great run, finishing in a time of 52:40.
