Three Counties Running club welcomes more than 350 runners for annual race in Fenland

Three Counties Running Club held their annual race on Remembrance Sunday.

The George Munday 10k, or more affectionately known as The GM10K, was in its seventh year.

More than 350 athletes lined up for the start of the race near the club's base of Leverington Sports and Social Club.

The morning started off with a slight frost and there felt a slight chill in the air but definitely no Fenland wind that can be quite brutal in the open spaces on route.

The sun did come out and the wind was kind making it ideal conditions for the runners.

It is a hugely popular event because it embraces Remembrance Sunday with a moving pre-race tribute and of course a two-minute silence, followed by a fun, friendly and enjoyable race.

The club had 25 members running which is a fantastic turnout as most club members were supporting by volunteering as marshals or helping with the safe and smooth running of the event.

Fantastic runs by all and first home for the club in a fantastic PB was Hayden Kearns 38:25 followed by Alfie Grant 42:20, Richard Goodley 43:15 (PB), Jonathan Quail 46:43, Amy Baxter 46:51 (PB), Sarah Melton-Whitelam 49-54PB, Victoria May 52:06PB, Dawn Goodley 52:33, Tamara Barnes 54:40 (CPB), David Hogg 55:25, AJ Harris 55:44, Steve Whitelam 56:17, Donna Johnson 57:50, Laura Vincent 57:50 (PB), Karen Betts 1:02:24, Anneli Killen 1:04:30 (PB), Janette Smith 1:08:27PB, Ewa Szczygielska 1:09:20, Lou Mayer 1:10:03, Louise West 1:12:27PB, Sandra Rhodes 1:12:27, Martin Jackson 1:13:29, Sophie Kirtley 1:13:42 (CPB) and second claim runner Dean Markillie 40:06.

Thanks to everyone for making the event so successful.
