Fenland-based Three Counties Running Club participate in the Folksworth 15, hosted by Yaxley Runners and Joggers
Eight members of Three Counties Running Club took on the fantastic Folksworth 15-mile event on Sunday, hosted by Yaxley Runners and Joggers.
The event is now in its 34th year, and the route takes in some great scenery over two laps of an undulating course, all on country roads.
There are three fairly steep hills on each lap of the course which is testing, yet the hills do not deter runners returning year after year to take part.
The Folksworth 15 has become an annual race fixture for many runners and is a great training race in preparation for one of the many spring marathons or just for people challenging themselves and upping the miles.
Conditions were good, despite it being dull and very cold but at least there was no wind to add to the dreaded hills.
There were some fantastic results from all members with the first member across the line Craig Freestone 1:55:47.
Other times: Phil Newton with a new CPB of over 16 minutes 1:58:02, James Stace 2:01:40 (PB), Victor Day 2:12:22 (CPB), Lauren Day 2:12:23, Sarah Johnson 2:15:03 (CPB), Les Phillips 2:41:17 and Lorraine Parker 2:41:18.
