Fenland-based club participates in eighth Run Norwich 10k event

It was another excellent weekend of running for Three Counties Running Club members.

Members travelled to Norwich to participate in the 8th Run Norwich 10k event.

This is a fantastic race with record numbers this year in attendance and the event selling out within 24 hours.

The Community Sport Foundation is Norwich City’s official charity.

The foundation engages more than 43,000 people in Norfolk every year.

They aim to drive inclusion for people with disabilities, boost mental health and well-being and help disadvantaged people reach their full potential.

This year in a field of 6941 finishes 1756 entrants was running their first-ever 10k which is a massive amount of first-timers.

The route isn’t flat despite the course information guide but undulating and the weather was rather warm and humid.

It takes place through the heart of Norwich city centre taking on the sights of The Castle, Cathedral and Carrow Road Stadium to name but a few.

The thought of a traffic-free event is very appealing to the running community.

TCRC members all had great runs with some running it as a training run for other events, some coming back from injury and some just running for the fun of it.

First home for the club in 49:06 Vicki Newton, Sarah Johnson 50:11 CPB, Gary Ingrey 51:45, Les Phillips 55:28 and Lorraine Parker 1:02:19.
