Three Counties Running Club members try out Ironman event in Bolton
Three Counties Running Club members like to turn their hand at a bit of everything - and Andi Woolley and Arthur Sargeant have been sticking to that motto.
The pair tested themselves at the Ironman UK Bolton event which consists of 2.4mile lake swim, 112 mile bike ride and a 26.2mile run.
Conditions were brutal during the bike ride - and to make it even harder to finish, the sun came out in time for the marathon.
This was Andi’s first Ironman event and also his first ever marathon, but he managed an incredible total time (with transitions) of 13:03:48 (swim 1:13:08, bike 6:58:24, run 4:33:37).
Arthur also had a fantastic event, finishing with an overall time with transitions of 16:19:07 (swim 1:20:05, bike 8:22:41, run 6:16:55).
Elsewhere, David Hammond took part in the Outlaw Half Holkham event.
The event consisted of a 1.9km single lap lake swim followed by a 90km bike ride - and to finish, a 21km multi-lap run.
David had a fantastic event finish with a total time including transitions of 7:21:58 (swim 35:54, bike 3:36:06, run 2:57:49).
The fourth event in the Peterborough 5k Series was hosted by Werrington Joggers, with six club members taking part. First home for the club was Gary Bligh (19:55).
