Fenland athletes take to the streets of London in warm conditions




It was a warm one for Three Counties Running Club members when they took to the streets of London.

The London Marathon was celebrating its 45th anniversary with a record number of participants.

This year saw more than 56,000 starters making London the biggest event in the world.

Three Counties had three members running in the iconic marathon.

Simon Killen, who last year got the Guinness World Record as the fastest Super Mario.

Claire Smithee and James Hall were both running their first marathon and both running for their chosen charity.

Smithee was running for Mind while Hall was running for Sense.

Killen had a fantastic run despite the heat and injury, crossing the line in a time of 2:52:37.

Hall enjoyed a fantastic run, finishing in a PB of 4:11:43 and Smithee recorded a fantastic PB run of 4:50:41.
